Calling all builders, designers, and dreamers!

This July, OAK is turning up the holiday heat with a sun-soaked celebration of creativity, community, and canines!
We’re showcasing 12 custom-designed dog houses, created by local builders and designers, for a summer event that’s merry, bright, and totally unique.

Key Dates and Timeline

Now – May 15
Calling all builders, designers, and dreamers! Confirm your spot to create one of 12 imaginative dog houses.

July 17 – Installation
Dog houses make their debut in Heartwood Park and will be highlighted across OAK’s digital platforms.

July 25 – Christmas in July Showcase
An unforgettable evening featuring:

• OAK’s Santa in his Tommy Bahama best

• Reindog Parade (summer series)

• Silent Disco under the stars

• OAK’s Signature Ice Cream, created by Boom Town Creamery

• Dog House Auction (100% of all funds will go directly to the Oklahoma Humane Society)

Dog House Guidelines
Creativity is key—we want to see your wildest ideas! Think modern cabins, cozy cottages, or OAK-themed hideaways. Inspired by Barkitecture, a book by Fred Albert, these aren’t just shelters—they’re statements.

Size Guide (approximate dimensions):

• Medium Breed: 30”W x 36”D x 36”H

• Large Breed: 36”W x 42”D x 42”H

• We encourage creativity in form and function—just ensure safe entry/exit and weather durability.
